In addition to its convenient location, the 1910 Boutique hotel allowed me to easily access some of Brasov’s most noteworthy sites. For those interested in history, the famous Black Church, is just a short walk away. Furthermore, the First Romanian School within the Saint Nicholas Churchyard reveals a fascinating look into Romania’s educational past. In conclusion, seeking accommodations near historical sites and cultural landmarks in Brasov will make for a satisfactory and straightforward experience during one’s visit.


Staying in Brasov: Useful Information for Your Visit

Brasov is a beautiful city in Romania with plenty to see and do. Getting to Brasov is easy, with options including a train or bus from major cities like Bucharest. A train ride from Bucharest’s Gara de Nord station takes about 2.5 to 3 hours.

Brasov is moderate in size and has a compact city center. You can comfortably walk around the old town, and public transportation mainly consists of buses and trolleybuses. The main stops for tourists include Livada Poștei and Gara Brașov.

In Brasov, you should try ‘sarmale,’ cabbage rolls stuffed with meat, and ‘papayas,’ a type of fried doughnut with sour cream and jam.

The climate varies with cold winters, where temperatures drop to around -5°C (23°F), and summers are warm, reaching up to 28°C (82°F). Spring and fall are mild, making them great times to visit with temperatures around 15-20°C (59-68°F).

Don’t miss seeing the Black Church. It’s an iconic landmark in the city center. Other attractions include Mount Tampa for hiking, Catherine’s Gate for history lovers, and Rasnov Fortress.

For the best stay, consider accommodations near Council Square, which is close to the main attractions. Schei district and the Astra area are good alternatives.

If you’re on a budget, look for guesthouses or hostels outside the old town—it’s still walking distance but more affordable.
